The holiday season is upon us and here at Monograms off Madison, we feel the best way to kick things off is to celebrate one of the newest additions to our store: Sandor Collection Christmas Stockings! Featuring intricate felt designs, each handmade stocking has been customized for Monograms off Madison by leaving space at the top for personalization!
The Sandor Collection was started in 1988 by Leve and Carole Karvazy who wanted to share the traditional craft heritage of their homeland, Hungary, with the rest of the world. Every Sandor stocking is designed and created by Hungarian artisians who combine eastern motifs with western holiday designs. From holly leaves to reindeer to snowflakes and more, there’s a stocking for everyone…we keep changing our mind about which one is our favorite!
By purchasing a Nirvana Designs product you help support rural craft men & women of Nepal. These products are hand made with love and respect from the natural resources of the Himalayas. If that is not enough to make you want to buy this product, check out some of the adorable designs.
The hats and mittens are fleece lined which makes them super warm and comfy. The designs are adorable so it’s hard to select just one. The sock monkey is one of our most popular as well as the kitty, the polar bear, and the frog.
We’ll receive another reorder next week so come in and pick out a cute set!
Thanksgiving is a beautiful holiday. A time to gather with family and friends and reflect on what we are thankful for. For some it’s the food on the table and the people gathered round. For me this year it’s much more, it’s what’s inside my belly. I am thankful to be expecting our first child in the early part of 2011!
As for our festivities, we hosted at our apartment this year. It was a small gathering of my parents and in-laws and we had a marvelous time. We feasted on the typical thanksgiving dishes and I made a delicious starter of roasted pears and shallot salad. I decorated the table with orange votive candles, acorns and wheat. I love place cards, even with a small group, it’s nice to mix couples up and designate seating. My place cards were beautiful goldish red apples and I wrote the names on the leaves in gold. And of course, the linens were monogrammed with a big A. I love a single initial on table lines, it’s simple and there is no debate on the monogram. Given my limited time I was pleased with the table and I enjoyed doing it.
Available is a rainbow of colors, these cotton waffle weave travel bags are available in two sizes – small and large at Monograms off Madison. They monogram beautifully and we attach a fun striped grosgrain ribbon off the zipper pull. You can do a name, monogram or single letter embroidery in lots of great color combinations. We did single letters for all the teachers at a school in the neighborhood…I hope they like them!

Incredible, the boa scarf which I was so unsure about has been a best seller at our trunk shows. They are beautiful and clearly the scarf trend continues. Thanks, Melisa at Fornash for getting me great stock, everyone loves these!
