One year ago today we opened the doors to Monograms off Madison. It’s been an incredible year! Customers have been loyal to us and very helpful spreading the word. The press has been very good to us which we very much appreciate. Our vendors have been great to work with too!
We truly enjoy each and every customer because their needs and ideas are so different. Every order that leaves the shop is unique and creative. We rarely do the same thing twice which keeps our creative juices going and is so much fun.
Thanks to everyone for a great year! We look forward to many more.
There are all sorts of wives tales about rain on your wedding day. Bury a bottle of whiskey on the wedding grounds to ward off the rain, rain is the tears of all the old boyfriends who missed out on the girl… At Monograms off Madison we know that the best strategy is to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best. Here’s a beautiful bride and groom with their monogrammed umbrella that thankfully they did not need. But it was too darn cute they just had to get a picture with it!

Yup, a customer recently brought in his team’s bowling shirts to be monogrammed. Not an everyday request for Monograms off Madison but we were happy to do it. The shirts looked awesome and the team was so happy they posed for pictures for us! Good luck guys and have fun!

My husband and I go out every Wednesday night, it’s our date night. It is a treat and I really look forward to it every week. Sometimes we dine out, sometimes we play tennis or go for a run or sometimes we do something cultural.
A few weeks ago we went to The Palm. The Palm is a New York institution, with locations around the world. I was looking forward to a great meal but to my surprise when I opened the menu I saw the calorie counts for each item! I have never seen this on a menu before. The waiter told us it’s the law in NYC but I swear I do not see this at the restaurants I frequent. It’s easy to order the NY Strip and Three Cheese Potatoes when you don’t know it’s 1,720 calories! Instead I ordered the 9 oz filet and half and half. *I was splitting the Half and Half with my husband.

Thankfully they didn’t list the calorie count for the Bearnaise sauce I drenched my steak in… The meal was so good and after a lovely bottle of Davis Bynum Pinot Noir I could not add up all the calories from the bread basket through dessert so it didn’t matter so much anymore! It was date not and it’s only once a week.
I’m just starting to recover from Tuesday nights spin class at Soul Cycle (remember I had a baby not so long ago). I participated in the 9/11 Memorial and Soul Cycle tribute ride benefiting the 9/11 Memorial. The event was chaired by Kelly Ripa and Billy Crystal and it was a nice way to remember to never forget September 11th. The instructors in studio B were Kim & Sue and they were both awesome and very inspirational. We rode in memory of the nearly 3,000 people who died on 9/11 and for the people who cannot ride because of injuries sustained on 9/11. September 11, 2001 is a day I will never forget.
