To move or not to move, that is the question…
I pass by the advertisement everyday on my way to work and it always make me chuckle. From the day I met my husband he has wanted to move out of the city, preferably to Connecticut. He longs for a backyard (maybe even a garden) a driveway and a basement. He dreams of barbecuing after work on a nice summer night and relaxing in a hammock on weekends. Don’t get me wrong, this sounds lovely but the commute is not what I wish for nor is shoveling the driveway!
I’ve lived in the city for almost 20 years, I consider myself a New Yorker (I was born here). I can get barbecue delivered at any time of the day, I can walk Central Park and not worry about mowing it and everything is a stones throw away. I love the conveniences of the city, it is the city that never sleeps afterall. When I am rocking my baby back to sleep at 4am I hear cars, see lights and even listen to kids on their way back from the bars and I LOVE it.
Hence, why this ad makes me chuckle every darn time I walk by it. I know I will love the burbs when we move but will a city girl like me fit in? For now I’m happy right where I am, walking past this sign on my way to work.
